The University of Tokyo announced on the 26th that in response to the Trump administration’s decision to revoke Harvard University’s eligibility to accept international students, it is considering temporarily accepting students who may no longer be able to study at Harvard. The details are still under review.
In 2022, the University of Tokyo also established a system to temporarily accept researchers and students who were unable to continue their academic activities due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The university has provided laboratories and accommodations free of charge to support their education and research.
